Asian Tuna Stir Fry Recipe: Great for weight loss, fat burning, and balancing the body.
Sometimes, eating healthy can feel like you’re stuck in a rut. It feels like you’re constantly eating chicken and broccoli (or whatever meat and veggies you eat all the time). It can start to feel like there’s no variety or spice in your foodie life – and that’s where we come in! This meal is the perfect meal to switch things up while staying on track.
This is a super easy, beginner friendly meal that only takes about 15-20 minutes of active cooking time. However, you will want to be ahead! So make sure your tuna is thawed completely and that you start an extra hour to 30 minute early to give your tuna time to marinate.
If you happen to be running late, it’s really not a big deal. Just let the tuna steaks sit in the marinade as long as you can, and be sure to drizzle some on top throughout cooking. Super simple and easy!
Don’t forget to make extra! This is our favorite way to meal prep. Serve leftovers for lunch over quinoa, brown rice, or Nutrifitx Approved noodles (we like brown rice stir fry noodles).

Ingredients
Tuna Marinade
- 1/2 Tbsp Liquid Aminos (or Nutrifitx Approved soy sauce/soy sauce alternative)
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Honey (or agave nectar/maple syrup)
- 1/2 tsp Sesame Oil
- 1 clove Garlic, minced
- 2 Tuna Steaks
Veggie Stir Fry
- 1 bunch Bok Choy, chopped coarsely at the leafy part and finely at the crunchy base
- 3 Green Onions, sliced diagonally
- 1 small bag Sugar Snap Peas
- 1/2 Organic Red Bell Pepper, sliced (optional)
- 2 cups Organic Spinach, chopped (we like baby spinach)
- 1 cup Bean Sprouts (optional)
- 1/2 Lime, juiced
- 1/2 Tbsp Liquid Aminos (or Nutrifitx Approved soy sauce/soy sauce alternative)
- 1 Tbsp Honey (or agave nectar/maple syrup)
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together all marinade ingredients. Pat tuna steaks dry before adding to marinade. (We cooked this meal in a glass bread pan and marinated the tuna in the same pan. You can also marinate meats in a ziplock bag or mixing bowl.) Marinate tuna for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 425 (F).
- Prep all of your veggies. Wash, chop, clean, etc. Keep at least the sugar snap peas and optional bell pepper separated.
- Heat a wok (or a large skillet if you do not have a wok) over medium heat. You will not add oil to the pan at this point, so if you are using a glass top stove, please be very cautious. Only allow your skillet to heat empty for 1-2 minutes (the skillet can fuse to the stove if left empty for too long).
- If your tuna steaks are marinating in a bag or bowl, please transfer them to a baking dish. Place fish in oven and cook for approximately 7-10 minutes on each side (we used the convection setting for 7 minutes per side). Check tuna periodically to ensure it is cooking as desired. (We prefer to cook our tuna steaks all the way through, but many prefer a rare center.)
- While tuna is baking and when wok/skillet is warmed, start your veggies. Add liquid aminos, honey, and lime to the pan. When bubbling, immediately add sugar snap peas and optional bell pepper. Stir fry for 1 minute. Add remaining veggies, and stir fry for another minute or unti veggies have reached desired tenderness. If your pan goes dry while cooking, add a splash of water to deglaze and continue cooking without burning.
- To assemble this meal, add half of veggies to a plate and top with tuna steak. You can eat the entire tuna steak or just a piece - tuna steak makes a great meal prepped protein!
- Top with desired toppings (see note for suggestions), and enjoy!
